) to provide and deploy an automated network upload and resynchronization solution that will allow the carrier to establish and maintain inventory data integrity. The software solution automates the upload of network inventory information, including physical and logical service elements such as nodes, cards, ports and assignments, from Brasil Telecom's diverse, multi-vendor network of Cisco, Lucent and Alcatel equipment. Syndesis' extensive portfolio of off-the-shelf Equipment Modules enables the rapid deployment of this type of solution in a variety of multi-vendor environments.

"Using Syndesis' automated upload capability, we will dramatically speed the deployment of our new inventory system. Rather than extracting information manually from individual network elements, legacy systems and tools, Excel spreadsheets, and various other sources, the Syndesis solution will upload network and service information directly from the network," said Chief Information Officer for Brasil Telecom, Waldeck Araujo Jr. "Now, Brasil Telecom will have the accurate information needed to provision and deliver services more quickly and reliably while reducing operational expenditures associated with fallout and ineffective trouble-shooting."

"The information gathered during the upload process will be used to populate and maintain Brasil Telecom's new inventory database, enabling it to be 100% accurate and in-synch with the deployed network," said Mark Nicholson, Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Product Management for Syndesis. "Maintaining an accurate network image is critical for virtually all operations and business support functions - from order management to network planning to billing, as well as for effective provisioning. Because our fully scalable software communicates directly with the Brasil Telecom network, it provides that up-to-date network information in a matter of minutes A Matter of Minutes is an episode from the television series The New Twilight Zone.
