:A) today announced that Brasil Telecom Brasil Telecom S.A. (BrT) is a major Brazilian telecommunications company headquartered in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia. The company is one of three land line telephone companies in Brazil that emerged from the break-up of Telebrás. , one of Brazil's largest telecommunications operators, has selected Agilent and Cerebrus' revenue-assurance solution to protect its new cellular and international networks, as well as existing local and long-distance networks, against fraud attacks. Brasil Telecom's Revenue Operations Center personnel will use the system to ensure that suspicious activities are discovered in real time, analyzed and shut down quickly, minimizing fraud and maximizing revenue.

Brasil Telecom uses Agilent's robust data-collection capabilities to gather call detail records from approximately 3,000 SS7 signaling links, combined with Cerebrus (RE), a unique fraud-detection and prevention solution based on patented advanced technologies, including neural networks. This powerful solution not only incorporates alarms to immediately notify operators of fraudulent activity of existing subscribers, but also identifies potential fraudsters before fraud is activated on the network.
