Leading Brazilian Operator Selects Convergys' Geneva Software to Unify

Its Billing System to Support Convergent Services

Convergys Corporation (NYSE:CVG), the global leader in integrated billing, employee care, and customer care services, announced today an expanded billing contract with Brasil Telecom S.A. (NYSE:BTM).

Convergys' Geneva(TM) software will support Brasil Telecom's future MPS (Mobile Personal Service) wireless subscribers as well as the operator's 2 million corporate customers of fixed telephony (i.e., wireline) services as part of the expanded multi-year agreement, which was originally signed in 2002 by the two companies.

Convergys will use local resources to implement the integration and customization of the new convergent solution for Brasil Telecom. The single billing solution will enable Brasil Telecom to offer a number of combined service packages for different markets.
