Branson Ultrasonics ultrasonics, study and application of the energy of sound waves vibrating at frequencies greater than 20,000 cycles per second, i.e., beyond the range of human hearing.  Corporation has developed a sewing table Model FS-90 Ultrasonic Fabric Sealing System for "sewing" or simultaneously cutting and sewing. This "sewing machine sewing machine, device that stitches cloth and other materials. An attempt at mechanical sewing was made in England (1790) with a machine having a forked, automatic needle that made a single-thread chain. In 1830, B.  without needle or thread. It produces sealed edges and seams with no stitch holes, preventing penetration of chemicals, liquids or particulate, thus providing a major benefit over conventional stitching methods.

The sewing table model consists of a sealing wheel drive mechanism with single or dual independently controlled sealing wheels. The compact ultrasonic head allows full visibility of the work area. Because of its unique design the FS-90 is capable of sealing and trimming or cutting fabric in tight turns with no binding or bunching.

Materials suitable for processing with the FS-90 include 100% synthetics and blends such as nylon, polyester, polypropylene, polyethylene, modified acrylics, vinyls, urethane urethane (yoor´ithān´),

, films and coated paper.

Various sealing patterns are available, including single and multiple stitch, dot, right or left slant and zigzag as well as various trimming and cutting wheels. Two stitching wheels or a combination of stitching and trimming wheels can be used simultaneously because they are independently controlled. This enables efficient processing of different material thicknesses without changing wheels.

Typical applications for the FS-90 include protective garments, disposable hospital gowns, shoe covers, face masks, infants' nursery garments, filters, bags, curtains, vertical blinds, sails and web splicing splicing /splic·ing/ (spli´sing)
