Spokane pitcher Clint Brannon Clint Brannon (born December 24, 1982) is an American professional baseball player. A lefthanded pitcher, Brannon spent three years pitching for the University of Arkansas, before being drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 34th round of the 2004 amateur baseball draft.  continued his mastery of Eugene while teammate Travis Metcalf Travis Metcalf (born August 17, 1982 in Manhattan, Kansas) is a Major League Baseball third baseman for the Texas Rangers. Metcalf was drafted by the Rangers in the 11th round of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft.  moved up among the Northwest League's home run leaders as the Indians beat Eugene for the third time in four days.

Brannon earned the victory by allowing one run in five innings, and Metcalf gave him a boost with a three-run home run in the top of the fourth inning that lifted the Indians to a 5-3 win over the Emeralds in front of 2,720 on Sunday evening at Civic Stadium.

He threw four scorless innings in Spokane's 8-0 victory over the Emeralds on July 16.

"My defense has been good behind me, and I'm just trying to throw strikes," the lefty said. "My arm feels good, and I've been working on a lot of things between starts. I'm trying not to look at my ERA, but just work on adjustments and learn from my mistakes."

Metcalf hit his 10th home run of the season, off Eugene starter William Ponce, to give the Indians a 5-0 lead in the top of the fourth. That turned out to be the game-winning hit.

Metcalf's blast was the league-leading 45th home run of the season for the Indians (24-20), surpassing their total of 44 from last year when they won the Northwest League title.

The Indians got a couple of unearned runs in the top of the second to take a 2-0 lead.

Jim Fasano opened the inning with a single and then Billy Susdorf drew a one-out walk. Ryan Baldwin followed with a grounder to Dale at first base and he tried to start a double play but instead his throw deflected off Susdorf and went into left field to allow Fasano to score.

Tug Hulett hit a two-out single to score Susdorf.

Hulett singled for his third hit of the game in the fourth and then Michael Mask walked. Metcalf followed with a blast off the Foster Farms sign in left field.
