Brand name drugs not better for heart.


Although many health experts believe brand-name drugs are better than generics when it comes to treating cardiovascular disease, a recent review of pharmaceutical studies found no evidence the often pricier brand-name drugs perform differently than generics.

Published in the Dec. 3 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association is an international peer-reviewed general medical journal, published 48 times per year by the American Medical Association. JAMA is the most widely circulated medical journal in the world. , the study was based on an analysis of peer-reviewed publications from 1984-2008.
