Jupiter Communications conducted a study on e-service and concluded that 46% of top-ranked Web sites either took longer than five days to reply to customer e-mails or never replied at all. With this year's holiday season expected to generate revenues at about $8 billion, it's imperative that retailers increase responsiveness to ensure customer acquisition and retention.

Based on customizable business rules, Cisco eMail Manager processes and tracks incoming messages, directs them to the right agent or support team, suggests relevant response templates and can send automated acknowledgements or more qualitative replies. A full-feature browser based interface provides agents with productivity tools to claim and read messages, view correspondence history, search the response libraries and collaborate on replies for more efficient, knowledgeable and personalized per·son·al·ize
