Braintech Delivers Vision Guided Robotic Software for Sony Smart Camera Solutions.

Braintech's Technology Running on Sony Smart Cameras Provides Compact Robot Vision System

MCLEAN, Va. -- Braintech Inc. has certified its eVisionFactory Lite (eVF Lite) software to run on Sony Electronics' new generation of Smart Cameras (XCI-SX100/XP), creating a compact vision system suitable for a broad spectrum of 2D and 3D robotic vision guidance applications in the automotive, pharmaceutical, food and beverage F&B is a common abbreviation in the United States and Commonwealth countries, including Hong Kong. F&B is typically the widely accepted abbreviation for "Food and Beverage," which is the sector/industry that specializes in the conceptualization, the making of, and delivery of foods.  and general manufacturing industries manufacturing industries nplindustrias fpl manufactureras

Later in the quarter, Braintech will enhance eVF Lite software with its SR3D technology, allowing for the integration of multiple smart cameras to work together at the same time.

"This powerful combination represents the first time vision guidance users will be able to utilize 2D and 3D vision capabilities, as well as features such as auto calibration and auto testing without the need to install a full-blown computer on the factory floor," said Rick Weidinger, Braintech's Chief Executive Officer. "We believe that our pricing for this turn-key solution will offer the most affordable alternative that will expand the VGR market."

"Bringing together our machine vision cameras with Braintech's vision guided robotics software is a powerful value proposition for the robotics industry," said Michael McCausland, Vice President of Sony's Visual Imaging Products Group. "The combination will provide the market with a compact, state-of-the-art, flexible, reliable and cost-effective vision system for robot guidance."

Braintech's eVisionFactory is a proven software platform for VGR known for its speed, flexibility and cost savings. It provides robust, scalable and automated intelligence solutions for industrial, government and defense applications with more than 170 installations worldwide.

Sony's comprehensive lineup of Smart Cameras eliminates the cost of integrating a computer into machine vision solutions--as well as the clutter of parts and interfaces from multiple vendors--to deliver a simple, economical, plug-in component.

The newest generation of cameras includes two color cameras with enhance features for processing speed See MHz. , high frame rates (90 fps at 640 X 480 resolution and 30 fps at 280 X 960 resolution), expanded SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) A type of dynamic RAM (DRAM) memory chip that has been widely used since the late 1990s.
