Brain girl, 7, wins pounds 10m; COURT.


A DISABLED girl of seven who "lives in a world of music" has won damages that could add up to more than pounds 10million over her life.

Romy Smith was born at 29 weeks in 2001 and seven days later was given a "grossly excessive dose" of the sugar dextrose dextrose: see glucose.  - a feeding substitute - in hospital.

It caused brain damage and she needs constant care.

Yet the High Court in London heard Romy, of Letchworth, Herts, has "incredible talent for music". The East and North Herts Hospitals NHS Trust National Health Service Trusts (NHS Trusts) provide many services of the National Health Service in England and Wales. They are not trusts in the legal sense but are in effect public sector corporations.  admitted liability.
