, traumatic brain injury Traumatic brain injury (TBI), traumatic injuries to the brain, also called intracranial injury, or simply head injury, occurs when a sudden trauma causes brain damage. TBI can result from a closed head injury or a penetrating head injury and is one of two subsets of acquired brain  and other brain disorders.

The technique centers around the Sertoli cell, a testes-based cell that release an immunosuppressive agent that enables sperm cells to survive and grow. Animal tests have shown that transplanting Sertoli cells into rat brains help various therapeutic agents survive and promotes regeneration of brain cells.
