Total sales for the five-week period increased 23.8% to $162.3 million, compared to $131.1 million in the prior-year period. Year-to-date comparable store sales for the 22-week period ended July 3, 1999 increased 15.6% over the prior-year period. Total sales for the 22 weeks were up 14.2% to $604.9 million, compared to $5 29.9 million in 1998. Sales for the period in 1998 included five stores which were closed in February and March of last year. One store was closed in March, 1999.
