Bracket star dies.Byline: DEAN PIPERVETERAN actor Patrick Fyffe - half of the long-running Hinge and Bracket Dr Evadne Hinge and Dame Hilda Bracket were the stage names of George Logan and Patrick Fyffe respectively. The characters of Hinge (somewhat brittle and acerbic) and Bracket (more flamboyant) were elderly, intellectual, female musicians; in these personae the male double act - has died at the age of 60. The star played Dame Hilda Bracket opposite George Logan as Dr Evadne Hinge. The act was launched in 1974 at the Edinburgh Festival Edinburgh Festival International festival of the arts, with an emphasis on music and drama. Founded in 1947 by Rudolf Bing, it is held for three weeks each summer. Its theatrical offerings include plays by major international theatrical companies; plays premiered at the and the duo went on to be stars of TV, radio and the stage. Fyffe's agent Phil Dale, said yesterday: "He had been fighting cancer since December - Patrick and George were such a team and had a unique style. "He will be sorely miss-ed by his fans and by me."
