Boys & Girls Clubs Of America And Computer City Announce Major Initiative; "Computer City Kids" Program Provides 22,000+ Hours of PC Training To At-Risk Youth.

Computer City Kids -- PC Skilled. PC Smart, a national computer training program for inner city kids, was unveiled today at a joint press conference by Thomas G. Garth, president of Boys & Girls Clubs Girls Club is a 2002 American television series created by David E. Kelley, who was also it's producer and executive producer. Garth, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. "Our Club members are eager for any opportunity to enhance their learning experience and the 'Computer City Kids' year-round training program is a strong addition to our educational development efforts."

Beginning April 1, approximately 10 children in each Computer City SuperCenter market will participate in one-and-a-half hour training classes each Saturday. Training will be provided on a variety of educational and Windows-based business software applications, including popular word processing word processing, use of a computer program or a dedicated hardware and software package to write, edit, format, and print a document. Text is most commonly entered using a keyboard similar to a typewriter's, although handwritten input (see pen-based computer) and , spreadsheet and database packages.

"Business has a responsibility to the community. By working with the Boys & Girls Clubs, we are helping train young minds for the future."

Forty-two Computer City SuperCenters will host training classes throughout the United States and additional locations will be added as Computer City enters new markets. The Computer City Kids initiative will be launched initially in the following major markets: -0-
