Boyd Energy Corporation Joins Kentucky Oil and Gas Association.

ARLINGTON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 13, 1999--

Boyd Energy Corporation, (the "Company") (OTC BB:BECO BECO - Booster Engine Cut-Off
BECO - Boston Edison Company
) an Arlington, Texas-based oil and gas exploration and development company, announces their membership with the Kentucky Oil and Gas Association, the professional oil and gas organization based in Frankfort, Kentucky. The membership with KOGA demonstrates the Company's commitment to a long-term development in the state of Kentucky.

John Gabbard, Executive Director, KOGA, stated the organization "is proud to have Boyd Energy Corporation as a new member and is keenly interested in the aggressive schedule the Company plans for development of the P-19 Prospect in Caldwell County, Ky. This is an area of the Illinois Basin that we in the industry have wanted to see drilled and developed. Acreage in Caldwell County has long been held by majors in the industry with only minimal drilling activity. Geological information on this area of Kentucky indicates the presence of hydrocarbons in mass quantity, the market in the area is strong with end users immediately available and transmission lines readily accessible for the commercial marketing of the natural gas. KOGA is pleased to have Boyd Energy Corporation as our newest member and will be following their developments in our state with much support and interest."

Boyd Energy Corporation holds acreage in Caldwell County, Ky., and will commence drilling during the month of April 1999. The Company owns 100% of the working interest in the Boyd Jones No. 1 well and in the entire 255 acres of the Jones lease. Additional acreage in the P-19 prospect is held by option and includes 2,000 acres. Initial plans to commence drilling on April 19 has been moved back by one week while the Company continues to negotiate their position to acquire additional acreage within the prospect.
