Now former Boyzone member Stephen Gately Stephen Patrick David Gately (born St. Patrick's Day, March 17 1976 in Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish pop singer who was in the boy band Boyzone until 2000, and subsequently pursued a solo career and acting roles.  and Eloy de Jong--one of Europe's most visible gay couples--have called it quits.
