Boy to fight curfew law.


A SCHOOLBOY is set to challenge the Government over curfews on young people.

The law allows police to impose 9pm curfews on any unsupervised under-16s in some areas - even if they have done nothing wrong.

Barry Hugill, of the civil rights group Liberty, said: 'No other country in Europe imposes anything like this.

'There's no curfew curfew [O.Fr.,=cover fire], originally a signal, such as the ringing of a bell, to damp the fire, extinguish all lights in the dwelling, and retire for the night. The custom originated as a precaution against fires and was common throughout Europe in the Middle Ages.  in Baghdad but we've got them here.'
