Boy survives fall on spike; ACCIDENT.


BRAVE boy Thomas Harris was almost killed by a set of six-inch metal spikes.

The 11-year-old fell as he climbed a park fence and one spike pierced his leg, just missing major arteries.

His brother Daniel ran for help and dad Simon arrived soon after and held him as firefighters cut him free.

Thomas, of Washington, Tyne and Wear Tyne and Wear, former metropolitan county, NE England. Created in the 1974 local government reorganization, the county embraced the Newcastle upon Tyne conurbation and comprised five metropolitan districts: Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, , who is now in hospital, said: "The pain was 10-and-a-half out of 10.
