Boy injured in rock fall; CLIMBING.A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was airlifted to hospital with serious head injuries yesterday after falling 100ft from a ridge on Skye. The youngster from Sussex was with a party of four other climbers on the south east ridge East Ridge, town (1990 pop. 21,101), Hamilton co., SE Tenn., a suburb of Chattanooga, near the Ga. border; inc. 1921. It is chiefly residential. of Sgurr nan Gillean Sgurr nan Gillean is a mountain in the Cuillin range on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. With a height of 964 m (3162 feet) it is one of eleven Munros on the Cuillin ridge. in the Cuillins. Stornoway coastguard said: "There was a lot of loose rock and some of it fell on the boy which made him fall. He was conscious when he was airlifted." He is now in Southern General Hospital, Glasgow, with serious head, chest and spinal injuries. |
