Ashley Dorling, 15, dived in to cool down as temperatures soared on Saturday afternoon. He got into difficulty and his brother Gary, 22, could not drag him out of the pond in Ipswich, Suffolk. An onlooker tried to fetch the lifebelt but it was missing from its holder. Ashley's sister Amy Steward, 24, said: "The people who stole it are sick."
