The child has been charged as have his parents who had allowed him to drive for months. The chase started at 6:30am on Friday on a motorway on the outskirts of New Orleans New Orleans (ôr`lēənz –lənz, ôrlēnz`), city (2006 pop. 187,525), coextensive with Orleans parish, SE La., between the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain, 107 mi (172 km) by water from the river mouth; founded when he was spotted going 128kph in a 96kph limit. Police said an officer turned on his lights and siren but the boy accelerated, passing several other vehicles on the hard shoulder and forcing cars off the road. Finally, he turned off the motorway to a Burger King where his mother worked. Police said the boy was driving home after dropping off his disabled father at hospital. |
