Former champion boxer Eammon Magee, Commonwealth champion Paul McCluskey, and former champ Ray Close, helped to shoulder the coffin of Mr Callahan, who passed away last Friday after battling a long illness. The promoter, who managed such greats as Barney Eastwood, has been credited as one of the main players in turning Belfast into a boxing hotbed.
