Woman, 25, dragged off street into woodland

A 25-YEAR-OLD woman was dragged off a Huddersfield street in a night-time sex attack.

The attacker pounced as the woman was walking on King's Mill Lane and dragged off the street into woodland.

He then carried out what police have described as "a serious sexual assault".

Details of the attack have only just been released by detectives - even though it happened at 8.30pm on Boxing Day night.

The investigation is being headed by Det Supt Paul Kennedy

Paul Kennedy CBE (born 1945) is a British historian specializing in international relations and grand strategy.

A police spokeswoman said: "The incident happened between the junctions of Maple Street and Cornrace View with King's Mill Lane.

"We are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who was in the area at the time to contact us."

Police have issued a detailed description of the attacker and are hopeful someone will recognise him.

He is white, around 5ft 11ins tall with spiky spik·y

He smelt of alcohol and wore a blue hooded top, blue denim jeans and trainers.

The spokeswoman added: "We would urge anyone who recognises the description of the man to come forward.

"With the attack happening on Boxing Day, the date will stick in people's minds.

"If you were travelling on King's Mill Lane that evening did you see anything suspicious?"
