SUNDERLAND'S unbeaten David Dolan is the bookie's favourite to lift the Prizefighter heavyweight crown on Barry Hearn's London show on April 11 - but another North East banger, David Ferguson, is being tipped to beat him. Dolan and Ferguson will be in London on Saturday for the draw in front of the Sky Television cameras. Hearn is staging a Prizefighter series in which eight heavyweights will fight it out on the night for a silver trophy and immediate national exposure. There will be three quarterfinals, two semis and a final all over three three-minute rounds. "Dolan has been made the bookie's favourite on Sky because he's unbeaten as a pro and won the Commonwealth Games Commonwealth games, series of amateur athletic meets held among citizens of countries in the Commonwealth of Nations. Originated (1930) as the British Empire games, the series is held every four years and is patterned after the Olympic games; women have participated gold medal gold medal traditional first prize. [Western Cult: Misc.] See : Prize , but I honestly believe that Ferguson can win the competition," said his manager Tommy Conroy. "Ferguson bombed out Mark Walker in just 50 seconds on my show at South Shields. He dropped him with a great right hook, and though Walker got up at seven, the referee wouldn't allow him to fight on. "We wouldn't be going to London if we didn't think David could win. He's unbeaten too, remember, after five successive victories." One reason why Dolan is favourite is that as a former ABA and Commonwealth champion a three-threes competition should suit his style. The eight fighters on the bill at York Hall, Bethnal Green on April 11 are David Dolan, David Ferguson, Paul Butlin, Billy Bessey, Alex Ibbs, Colin Kenna, Darren Morgan and Martin Rogan. Sky are showing the show live with Glenn McCrory ringside ring·side n. 1. The area or seats immediately outside an arena or ring, as at a prizefight. 2.
