The Liverpool welterweight was handed two points deductions as he slipped to defeat against Serbian Zoran Mitrovic - to whom he also lost to in last year's European Championships.

Perkins' 17-12 reversal was a major blow as he was regarded as one of the best English chances of reaching the quarter-finals and with it a place at next year's Beijing Olympics.
