CARL FROCH plans a night on the tiles if he beats Jean Pascal to claim the vacant WBC supermiddleweight world title.

But rather than downing the stout, Froch will be reaching for the grout as he has tiles to put up in his new house.

The down-to-earth Nottingham fighter is happy doing DIY and says he gave up booze for the sake of his career.

"I won't paint the town red afterwards," said the undefeated Froch. "I've some tiling to do so I'll get back to that next week.

"I don't drink. I used to have the odd pint of Guinness after a fight, but the last time it gave me a horrible headache for two hours and it put me right off.

"Now I've turned 31 I don't need to drink. I don't need to put toxins in my body.

I drink herbal tea and I'll cut out the wild stuff for the next five or six years during my career. I owe myself that.

"If drinking slows me down one per cent then what's the point?

"I have to give my self every opportunity of fulfilling my ambitions."

Froch is thrilled to be fighting the undefeated Canadian Pascal (left) for the world title in front of his home fans at the Nottingham Trent FM Arena.

"I never thought this would happ en in Nottingham," he said.

"I thought I would have to travel to America and that's a ccredito my promoter Mick Hennessy."
