JOE CALZAGHE Joe Calzaghe (born 23 March, 1972 in Hammersmith, London England) is a Welsh boxer of Italian and Welsh descent, who is nicknamed "The Pride of Wales". He currently lives in Cwmbran, Wales, and is one of the pound for pound top 10 boxers in the world according to the Ring Magazine.  has been told his unbeaten record means nothing - by the man he could fight next.

On Saturday night, Calzaghe retained his WBO WBO World Boxing Organization
WBO Western Buddhist Order
WBO Wehrbeschwerdeordnung
WBO World Bamboo Organization (formerly International Bamboo Association)
WBO Won by One (Malibu, California; a cappella group)
super-middleweight title for the 14th time when he knocked out Mger Mkrtchian of Armenia in round seven and now the Welshman is moving to light-heavyweight.

light- heavyweight title and Johnson is ready and waiting.

"Calzaghe is a good fighter but he has been protected all of his life and that is why he is unbeaten in 37 fights," said Johnson.

"I have had to take world title fights all over, just to get a living and I have suffered from a lot of bad decisions.

"All the hardship has made me a better fighter and Calzaghe will find out what it is like to finally meet a world-class boxer when he gets in the ring with me."

Calzaghe, who was in complete control before finishing off the strong but limited Armenian on Saturday night, said: "It has become real hell to make the 12stone limit.

"A move to light-heavyweight makes perfect sense in every way. I know it will only make me stronger.

"Johnson is at the top of my list and if a fight can be made I would grab it with both hands. I know I can win the title."

Promoter Frank Warren, who has tried in vain over the years to match Calzaghe with some of boxing's best-known names, has already started negotiations. "I'm confident it will happen," he said.
