No fewer than nine boxers from Birtley should take part in the Northern Counties schoolboy finals on St Valentine's Day.

Eight are already through and they ought to be joined by Travis Dickinson, a reigning national schoolboy champion, when he fights in the Tyne, Tees and Wear finals in Hartlepool on Saturday.
