Boxer business packs a punch.


A BOXING fan who turned his interest into a business is hoping to pack a punch at the 2006 HSBC HSBC Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation

David Sharp David Sharp was a British mountaineer who possibly summitted Mount Everest on his third attempt but died on 15 May 2006 near the summit.[1] Controversy over death  started the Rhyl-based Punch Clinic over two years ago and is hoping to scoop top honours in the Western and Wales Wales, Welsh Cymru, western peninsula and political division (principality) of Great Britain (1991 pop. 2,798,200), 8,016 sq mi (20,761 sq km), west of England; politically united with England since 1536. The capital is Cardiff.  heat.

With an increasing number of people from varying backgrounds taking up the sport, David set up the innovative boxing gym - teaching non-contact boxing in private rooms as a fitness regime for all ages.

"My ultimate goals for my clients are good health, self-assertiveness and self-protection," said David.

"The Punch Clinic aims to help combat such major social problems as child obesity, bullying and anti-social behaviour, as well as encouraging healthier eating," said David, who also supplies boxing equipment and sells merchandise

from the company website.

He now has over 700 private clients and works with some 11 government-run organizations. He is also currently trying to negotiate contracts with local schools. In time, David hopes to relocate the gym to a more prominent location in order to increase passing trade - and ultimately to franchise the business to other areas.

For the first time the HSBC Start-Up Stars Awards will incorporate five new regional heats - the north, south east, midlands, western and Wales, and London.

The awards are open to any fledgling UK firm less than three years old with a top prize of pounds 25,000. Entry forms from HSBC branches, online at

www.hsbc.co.uk or by contacting the awards organisers office on 0870 902 3333. Closing date is Friday, April 28.
