"The Punch Clinic aims to help combat such major social problems as child obesity, bullying and anti-social behaviour, as well as encouraging healthier eating," said David, who also supplies boxing equipment and sells merchandise from the company website. He now has over 700 private clients and works with some 11 government-run organizations. He is also currently trying to negotiate contracts with local schools. In time, David hopes to relocate the gym to a more prominent location in order to increase passing trade - and ultimately to franchise the business to other areas. For the first time the HSBC Start-Up Stars Awards will incorporate five new regional heats - the north, south east, midlands, western and Wales, and London. The awards are open to any fledgling UK firm less than three years old with a top prize of pounds 25,000.
