Boxeo de Campeones and Copa Toyota Libertadores to Contribute More Than 300 Hours of New Live & Exclusive Sports Programming to U.S. Spanish-language Broadcast TV in 2003.

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 17, 2003

Fox Sports en Espanol has added more than three hundred hours of new programming in 2003 that will be highlighted by the much anticipated South American soccer tournament, Copa Toyota Libertadores. The six-month club tournament will kick off on Tuesday, February 4 at 3:00 p.m. PT/6:00 p.m. ET with its opening match featuring Gremio of Brazil and Mexico's UNAM Pumas. Fox Sports en Espanol has secured the exclusive U.S. broadcast rights to all Copa Toyota Libertadores matches through 2007.

Copa Toyota Libertadores will feature 32 club teams from ten participating countries including Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, Colombia and Uruguay. A total of 128 matches will be played between February and July in 22 cities.

The network also recently launched its new boxing series, Boxeo de Campeones (Championship Boxing), on January 13. The 24-event series is being produced by Kingfish kingfish, common name for several fishes, among them the croaker and pompano.

 Boxing Productions and is being rotated into Fox Sports en Espanol's current Monday night boxing telecasts scheduled at 8:00 p.m. PT/11:00 p.m. ET. Boxeo de Campeones will run for the duration of the year on Fox Sports en Espanol adding 48 hours of live boxing to the network's program schedule.

The Caribbean World Series, baseball's prelude to spring training, returns for its third consecutive appearance on the network with two games opening the 2003 series on Sunday, February 2 beginning at 12 noon PT/3:00 p.m. ET. The 11-game series will broadcast direct from Puerto Rico Puerto Rico (pwār`tō rē`kō), island (2005 est. pop. 3,917,000), 3,508 sq mi (9,086 sq km), West Indies, c.1,000 mi (1,610 km) SE of Miami, Fla.  and will conclude on Friday, February 7.

Fox Sports en Espanol is available through affiliated cable systems and through DIRECTV and Dish Network See DBS.  satellite providers.
