Box Energy finds gas pay in the Gulf of Mexico and Mississippi.DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 2, 1996--Box Energy Corp. announced today the finding of two gas pays in the Gulf of Mexico Noun 1. Gulf of Mexico - an arm of the Atlantic to the south of the United States and to the east of Mexico Golfo de Mexico Atlantic, Atlantic Ocean - the 2nd largest ocean; separates North and South America on the west from Europe and Africa on the east and in Mississippi. South Pass 89-Well B-7ST, Gulf of Mexico The completion of South Pass Block 89 Well B-7ST was drilled to a total depth of 5,700 feet and encountered approximately 100 feet of net gas sand between the depths of 5,100 to 5,600 feet in four separate zones. The well is currently testing at a rate of 2.1 million cubic feet of gas per day from one of the four reservoirs. This is the first production on South Pass 89 from the Lenticulina sands and is subject to Box Energy's long term gas contract. Box Energy has a 33% working interest in this well as a result of a partner electing not to participate in the well. Box's interest will revert to a 25% working interest after revenues equal 300% of the well cost.
