Bowne Global Solutions (BGS), the world leader in globalization services and technology, announced today that it has successfully completed translating the SAP(R) R/3(R) Enterprise solution Release 4.7 from German into French, Portuguese and Finnish.

A total of 35 translators worked on the project, which took approximately eight months to complete. The translators, 14 of whom were based in Belgium, 17 in Portugal and four in Finland, all have extensive knowledge and prior experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) translations and the SAP R/3 solution. SAP R/3 provides the ERP functionality that is a prerequisite for many successful business solutions.

In addition, to translating SAP R/3 into three languages, BGS also translated the Enterprise Business Procurement, mySAP(TM) Customer Relationship Management, Supplier Relationship Management and SAP Strategic Enterprise Management solutions, as well as some SAP industry sector solutions, SAP BGS and SAP 2-2-2 financial applications and the SAP Business Information Warehouse (part of the mySAP Business Intelligence e-business solution).

These smaller projects, which were completed simultaneously during the SAP R/3 translation project, demonstrate how BGS can provide a flexible solution that's specific to a client's needs. In this engagement, BGS translators worked online in the SAP solution environment and used translation memories and machine translation to improve their overall efficiency and keep costs down.
