Bowne Global Solutions Appoints Michael Marsan to Director of Strategic Development for Internationalization and Testing.

Bowne Global Solutions, (BGS) the world's leading provider of globalization and localization services, announced today the appointment of Michael Marsan to Director of Strategic Development for Internationalization and Testing.

In this new role, Marsan will develop and execute worldwide growth strategies for BGS' internationalization and testing services, which help clients prepare products for foreign markets, adapting them to regional specifications and the needs of local consumers. He will report to Wolfgang Haselwander, Vice President of Productivity Applications and New Business Program Management, and work closely with BGS Operations, Sales and Marketing. He will be based at BGS' headquarters in Parsippany, NJ.

"Michael's role will be to make sure we have what our clients need in the way of leading-edge testing and internationalization services - two key services in our end-to-end globalization solution," says Ken Rother, Chief Technology Officer at BGS. "He will be the liaison with the operations, sales and marketing teams to ensure that we provide the highest quality solution in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible."

Marsan, who was an Operations Manager based in Munich, has spent the last two years leading a team of 74 globalization experts, architecting German-product solutions for BGS' clients that resulted in increased demand in the German marketplace. Marsan was also instrumental in developing BGS' European center for engineering and restructuring its multimedia service capabilities.

Prior to joining BGS, Marsan held a senior management position at Harvard Translations, where he successfully established and grew that company's software and Web globalization business among leading Global 1000 clients. Marsan also worked in the internationalization group at Basis Technology and at Amiken, an international trading firm, where he was responsible for international trade channel management between the United States and Morocco, Pakistan and Asia.

Marsan earned a B.S. degree in Management from Babson College. A former U.S. Marine, he also graduated from the U.S. Army Military Intelligence School, where he placed first in his class.
