Bowman: Ferry bad move with water-tight Doc at the helm.

Byline: Dave Bowman

TONY DOCHERTY is officially the tightest man at Tannadice - by the length of the Tay Bridge.

Doc showed his true colours when he asked his fellow colleagues to help him with a bit of flitting recently.

It was the most unusual pre-match preparation before the Falkirk game although the only consolation was us winning the next day.

Doc asked boss Gordon Chisholm, physio physio

Jeff Clarke, coach Rab Geddes and myself to assist him in moving house to Broughty Ferry.

It was absolutely pouring with rain but Doc had us carrying this massive couch up a flight of stairs Noun 1. flight of stairs - a stairway (set of steps) between one floor or landing and the next

 on a Friday night.

Despite him making a tidy profit on the house he sold in Perth we didn't even get as much as a bottle of beer for our efforts.

Our reward? Doc offered us all a glass of cold water which we politely declined.

But he won't be laughing for much longer. As things happen, Jim McLean is one of his neighbours.

Maybe we should have got Jim for his joinery joinery, craft of assembling exposed woodwork in the interiors of buildings. Where carpentry refers to the rougher, simpler, and primarily structural elements of wood assembling, joinery has to do with difficult surfaces and curvatures, such as those of spiral  skills to fit the upstairs window that was a real pain to put in.

I must admit I did a wee Jim on the touchline Touchline

The touchline just specifies the best bid or ask available for a particular stock.

during Saturday's youth game against Celtic at Glenesk Park in Dundee.

The linesman put his flag up to pull over the referee to draw his attention to something he'd just noticed.

It was a serious case of mistaken identity as he then booked MatthewFlynnAnybodywhoknows Matty will know he's got bottle-blonde hair like some kind of pop star.

So how could the linesman possibly mistake him for somebody with jet-black hair who was the real culprit.

It's no wonder managers get so frustrated when they see such incompetence at the sidelines.

I told the linesman straight that if he's going to get involved he should at least get his facts right before interfering.

We'll do everything to try and appeal but that doesn't change the fact Matty is now walking a tightrope - another booking could see him in hot water. We lost 2-0 in the end.

It was as disappointing as the way we lost 4-2 to Celtic on Sunday but the one big, pleasing factor was Collin Samuel.

The fans will be glad to know Sammy has been scoring those kind of goals for fun in training.

He's a lot chirpier than I've ever seen him and there are not many strikers quicker or stronger in the SPL (1) (Systems Programming Language) The assembly language for the HP 3000 series. See assembly language for an SPL program example.

Just look at Mo Camara. He's not the most gifted player around but he's got tremendous athleticism to get up and down the park for Celtic all game.

Sammy's the same. Defenders don't like coming up against his sort so he has to make the most of his attributes.

You've got to remember as well young Gary Kenneth was up against the likes of Chris Sutton and John Hartson who are two of the best in the business.

Celtic are improving all the time but I don't think the same can be said about our next opponents Hearts.

I watched them beat Killie kil·lie

last week and said to the boys they're not unbeatable.

I hate to say it but I actually fancied Hibs to win the derby at the weekend and that's how things worked out.

The uncertainty surrounding the manager's position at Hearts can't be helping either and it wasa bit strange to see Vladimir Romanov in the stand at Tannadice on Sunday.

The longer they go without a newman in place the more chance it will give us on Saturday. They were flying earlier in the season but now I think they're a bit more vulnerable.

We'll spend this week working on ways of improving how we played against Celtic.

The first team were given Monday off but the coaching staff were in to look at the video of the game.

I always like going back to my old club Hearts but you only really enjoy it if the result goes in your favour
