Bowls: Scott's too hot for 'em; SPORTS FILE.


TITLE holder Scott Kennedy cruised into today's last 16 stage of the Scottish Indoor Singles Championship.

The East Lothian East Lothian (lō`thēən), council area (1993 est. pop. 85,640), 262 sq mi (677 sq km), and former county, SE Scotland. Under the Local Government Act of 1973, the county of East Lothian became (1975) part of the new Lothian region,  man stayed on course to become only the fourth player to retain the title since the event began in 1965.

Kennedy, 34, was a man on a mission as he breezed through his preliminary round match, brushing aside 15-year-old Chris Stein.

He hammered Stein 21-1 in just thirteen ends before dumping Blantyre's Iain McLean in the first round.
