Bowlers stump Pakistan rivals.


SRI LANKA Sri Lanka (srē läng`kə) [Sinhalese,=resplendent land], formerly Ceylon, ancient Taprobane, officially Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, island republic (2005 est. pop.  captain Kumar Sangakkara Kumar Chokshanada Sangakkara (born 27 October, 1977 at Matale) is a Sri Lankan cricketer. He is a left hand batsman, batting in the No. 3 position, who learnt to become a wicket-keeper and has subsequently become a specialist wicketkeeper also.  last night hailed his bowlers after their six-wicket victory over Pakistan in the second one-day international

One-Day International (ODI) is a form of cricket, which is played over 50 overs per side between two national cricket teams.

New-ball bowler Nuwan Kulasekara gave his side a perfect start with a wicket off his first delivery while Thilan Thushara sparked a Pakistan collapse by claiming three top-order wickets.

And Chamara Kapugedera (right) marked his return to form with an unbeaten 67 as Sri Lanka eased to a 2-0 series lead. He won the man of the match award and steadied nerves in an unbroken 95-run stand for the fifth wicket with Thilan Samaraweera after Sri Lanka had stumbled to 74 for four while chasing a target of 169 for victory.

But after the win Sangakkara said: "It wasn't quite as smooth as we hoped it would be.

"All credit again to the bowlers, they did a wonderful job with the new ball and did exactly what we wanted them to do on a fresh wicket."
