Bowers Metrology Signs Exclusive with Wilson Wolpert.

Spear & Jackson (OTCBB:SJCK) has announced that Bowers Metrology has signed an exclusive agreement to represent the Wilson Wolpert range of hardness testing machines in the UK. Wilson and Wolpert are two of the most famous names in materials testing and Bowers was selected because of their reputation in this field, having manufactured a range of portable testers for many years.

A new 100,000 sq. feet factory was officially opened in Shanghai, China on the 23rd of November 2002, with the capacity to manufacture 5,000 machines per year. Steve White, Bower's Managing Director, attended the opening ceremony together with many high ranking Chinese Government Officials and is quoted as follows: "This new factory is one of the most modern facilities I have seen anywhere in the world, with several millions of Euros invested in state-of-the-art machine tools. The technical expertise for these products has been fully transferred from the facilities in the UK and USA enabling Wilson Wolpert to produce leading edge machines at extremely competitive prices. We are delighted to have been awarded the UK agency as these products ideally complement our own manufactured range."

The products being manufactured include Rockwell Bench Testers, Micro-Vickers Testers and fully automatic Universal Testers. These range in price from $3,000.00 to $50,000.00 and Bowers has the full capability to install and service the entire range in the UK via their modern manufacturing facility in Bradford, England.

The Bowers Metrology Group, a division of Spear & Jackson, has four manufacturing sites; Bowers in Bordon, Bowers in Bradford, Moore & Wright in Sheffield and Coventry Gauge in Poole. The main products that are manufactured include internal and external micrometers, bore and air gauges, hardness testers, thread gauges and engineers hand tools.
