One of the nation's older colleges, its alumni include Nathaniel Hawthorne, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and Franklin Pierce. is the winner of the sixth annual Joe Concannon Award, which recognizes New England's best American-born Division II-III hockey player. Dann, a resident of Burlington, VT, scored 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points in 24 games while serving as captain and leading the Polar Bears to the NESCAC NESCAC New England Small College Athletic Conference conference championship game. He was a second team NESCAC League all-star pick for the second consecutive year after earning first-team accolades as a sophomore. For his career, Dann collected 58 goals and 52 assists for 110 points in 98 games. He is one of only two Division III

Bowdoin head coach Terry Meagher noted, "Adam is a remarkable and gifted kid. He may be the best open-ice player I've ever played with or coached. He has incredible speed that opens up the ice. Adam loves and respects hockey, and he has certainly left his mark here at Bowdoin." Dann is the second Bowdoin player to receive the Joe Concannon Award; Michael Carosi was the 2002 winner. Meagher added, "To have one winner of this award was great, but to have two is really special. I knew and respected Joe Concannon from my playing days in Boston. Dann bested a strong field of 15 finalists. Others who received strong support in the final balloting were senior forwards Eric Frank from UMass-Dartmouth and Matt McCarthy from Tufts. Frank, from Waltham MA, led the Corsairs to a 25-5 record and the ECAC Northeast ECAC Northeast is a college athletic conference which operates in the northeastern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division III as a hockey-only conference.
McCarthy, from Medfield MA, was the leading scorer for Tufts, with 18 goals and 17 assists for 35 points in 22 games. He tallied eight power play goals, and is the first Jumbos player to earn first team all-NESCAC honors. McCarthy finished his career with 49 goals and 43 assists for 92 points in 87 games.
