Bowater Canadian Forest Products Inc. -BCFPI- Refiles 2004 Quarterly Financial Statements.


MONTREAL Montreal (mŏn'trēôl`), Fr. Montréal (môNrāäl`), city (1991 pop. 1,017,666), S Que., Canada, on Montreal island, surrounded by St. Lawrence River and Rivière des Prairies.  -- Bowater Canadian Canadian (kənā`dēən), river, 906 mi (1,458 km) long, rising in NE New Mexico. and flowing E across N Texas and central Oklahoma into the Arkansas River in E Oklahoma.  Forest Products Inc., (BCFPI BCFPI Brief Child and Family Phone Interview ) today announced that it has refiled its interim financial statements for the periods ended March 31, 2004, and June 30, 2004. The refiled statements correct BCFPI's accounting for intercompany sales to its ultimate parent company, Bowater Incorporated.

The revisions show increases in BCFPI's net losses from $56.8 million to $59.4 million for the three months ended March 31, 2004, and from $38.1 million to $47.4 million for the three months ended June 30, 2004. BCFPI recently reported net income of $31.5 million for the three months ended September 30, 2004.

BCFPI's corrections have no impact on the financial statements of its ultimate parent company, Bowater Incorporated.
