HONEOYE FALLS, N.Y. -- BowMac, Inc., developer of public safety and emergency response programs, announces the further customization of its REDI(TM) software to now include for use by communities, public agencies and corporations.

"In 2003, the National Incident Management Systems (NIMS NIMS National Incident Management System (US Department of Homeland Security)

," says BowMac President John McNall. "Critical safety organizations, both private and public, are faced with the challenge of completely restructuring their approaches to planning for and responding to emergency situations so that they are compliant with Homeland Security Noun 1.  standards. REDI(TM) provides comprehensive emergency response plans and tools that are compliant with NIMS."

REDI(TM) ensures:

--NIMS-compliant emergency response plans with guides and checklists

--management and categorizing of organizational and community resources

--emergency policies and procedures Policies and Procedures are a set of documents that describe an organization's policies for operation and the procedures necessary to fulfill the policies. They are often initiated because of some external requirement, such as environmental compliance or other governmental  with acceptance and revision control Revision control (also known as version control (system) (VCS), source control or (source) code management (SCM)) is the management of multiple revisions of the same unit of information.

Currently, REDI(TM) software is being used by more than 1000 school districts nationwide and by communities such as Hoffman Estates Hoffman Estates

, IL and university campuses like the University of Vermont. With additional customization capabilities, the software is now a comprehensive emergency response solution for transportation agencies, airports, public utilities and corporations of any kind.

"When I was first hired by the Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority, we recognized that our existing 'Emergency Plan' was no longer meeting the needs of a post 9-11 world," says Operations Manager See datacenter manager.  Bruce Philpott. "It was dated, difficult to maintain and old procedures did not recognize NIMS standards. Our challenge was to have a plan that was not a corporate secret holding down a shelf. Bowmac helped us create a customized program that RGRTA RGRTA Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority  could easily maintain and make available to key personnel in the company 24/7."

"Unlike the Emergency Plan that is filed away on a shelf somewhere, our customers find that REDI(TM) is easy to implement, use and update as well as affordable," adds McNall. "Best practice in 2006 dictates that organizations prepare themselves for any eventuality, whether it is a natural disaster, pandemic pandemic /pan·dem·ic/ (pan-dem´ik)

, terrorist attack or massive IT failure. Financial constraints dictate that employing experts is out of the question for all but the largest organizations. REDI(TM) does the heavy lifting for them.

"The real test of any plan is how well it translates to implementation in the field with guides and checklists driving the information down to the operation level and simplifying response. REDI(TM) addresses all organizational levels, including first-line personnel, and what they should do in the first five minutes of any emergency," he concludes.
