BostonWorks Launches New Web site -- Simplifying the Job Search Process; New Features Offer Easier Access to Job Searches, News and Features.


BOSTON -- BostonWorks has launched a redesigned Web site, offering greater ease of use to jobseekers and employers in Greater Boston Greater Boston is the area of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts surrounding the city of Boston, Massachusetts. In addition to providing job seekers with the tools and information they need to find their next opportunity, the site is a great resource for those individuals who are happy in their current job yet looking to access information to help them further their careers.

"Research showed us that job seekers primarily come to BostonWorks to search for local jobs," said Jason Kissell, managing director of BostonWorks. "The new design enables them to get to the right job more quickly than ever before and uniquely allows them to search for jobs by criteria very relevant to Boston - by commute, by region and by industry. And we complement the search with our exclusive and unique career development content."

The new BostonWorks.com site includes a wide array of new features and enhancements, including:

--Easier access to job search and browse options

--Enhanced search options, including the ability to search for opportunities at companies in a specific region or along a targeted commute

--A new navigation bar A set of buttons or graphic images typically in a row or column used as a central point that link you to major topic sections on a Web site. If the navigation bar is a single graphic image with multiple selections, it is known as an imagemap. See imagemap.  for easy passage through the site

--A site map, accessible from every page, that will help job seekers find precisely what they are looking for Looking for

For those jobseekers who had previously posted resumes and customized job searches on BostonWorks.com, their resumes, cover letters, job alerts and saved searches are still available on the new site.

With all the changes, BostonWorks.com continues to maintain some of the most popular content from the previous design, including the Job Blog and HR Blog, as well as Hiring Hub, a site providing news and stories of interest to the HR Professional. The Job Hunt, a suite of information and tools designed to help job seekers conduct a successful job search, also remains. The Job Hunt includes tips on interview preparation, salary guides, networking advice and events and career development and education.

Other popular features include the BostonWorks Student Center, dedicated to providing information to students and recent graduates interested in landing a job in Greater Boston.
