Today's initiative is designed to reach the currently employed candidate, often called the passive job seeker. This candidate is not currently looking for an opportunity but would change jobs if the right one came along. Passive job seekers make up 80 percent of the workforce, are often a company's top performer and are considered the most coveted candidates.

"When you are looking for new hires, you want to reach the best qualified candidates who can contribute to the success of your organization. However, the best employee for your company may already be employed and not actively looking for a new opportunity," said Peter Newton, president of BostonWorks.

The passive job seeker is difficult for hiring managers to reach because these candidates are not actively visiting online employment sites or searching recruitment ads. By leveraging the success of the Globe and Boston.com, the region's number one portal, BostonWorks reaches 64 percent of employed adults in this market, more than any other recruitment service provider.(1)

"BostonWorks has the ability to reach these potential employees that our competitors cannot deliver."

Every customer running a one-eighth page or larger black-and-white recruitment ad in the BostonWorks section of The Sunday Boston Globe automatically receives free color, branding the organization as an employer of choice for job seekers. As part of MaximumWorks, the client will be placed in the BostonWorks Employers Index Ad. Featured in the editorial pages of the Globe outside the BostonWorks section, this Index includes the company logo, web address and three position titles. The Index is published three times per week, providing greater exposure to the passive job seeker. Additional exposure to the passive job seeker will be garnered through a branded skyscraper skyscraper, modern building of great height, constructed on a steel skeleton. By increasing size, adding color and an online presence, BostonWorks delivers a greater return on investment to its clients. "Once again, BostonWorks is the best solution for hiring managers trying to reach both the active job seeker and the currently employed individual who is not looking for a job," said Newton. "No other recruitment services provider, online or print, delivers the total reach and value offered by BostonWorks."

The MaximumWorks Program is a limited time offer. To be eligible for the program, recruitment ads must be purchased by July 26, 2003. The MaximumWorks program will not apply to recruitment ads purchased for The Big Help on Sunday, September 7, 2003.
