Boston.com a Double Winner in 1999 MIMC Awards.


BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 4, 1999--

Boston.com captured the honors as Best Information/Reference Portal Site Noun 1. portal site - a site that the owner positions as an entrance to other sites on the internet; "a portal typically has search engines and free email and chat rooms etc.  (http://www.boston.com) and Best General Entertainment Online Site (http://mp3.boston.com) at the Massachusetts Interactive Media Council's annual awards held last night in Boston. The contest's 27 categories honor the best online and multimedia sites and products created by Massachusetts companies.

In winning the Information/Reference Online Site -- Portal category, Boston.com topped three other finalists: Lycos.com, Zinezone.com and Allcam.com. Boston.com's mp3 music site, which features downloadable music from 300+ local bands, topped Videoshare.com in the General Entertainment Online Site category.
