) announced today that William G. Morton, Jr., the longest serving stock exchange chief executive in the country, will step down as Chairman and CEO on March 30, 2001, after 16 years of service. Mr. Morton will be succeeded by Kenneth R. Leibler, former President and CEO of Liberty Financial Companies and past President of the American Stock Exchange American Stock Exchange (AMEX)
