Boston Native Free Comes Home in Support of the 2004 Democratic National Convention; Host of BET's ``106 & Park'' Encourages Young Democrats to Vote.

) kicks off on July 24th in her hometown of Boston, MA. Says Free, "I am proud that the Boston community has come together in such a way to support the Democratic National Convention. I have been heavily involved in many initiatives encouraging young people to vote. There is no way I wouldn't be a part of a year that I feel will change history. If I can encourage a young person to vote and help them realize their vote can make a difference, you can ALWAYS count me in to lend my name and my voice."

Free kicks off her DNC duties on Saturday, July 24th, when she attends the "Welcome to Boston" event which will be held at the Museum of Afro-American History. "Welcome to Boston" will showcase the rich history of contributions to America's freedom and culture by African-Americans in Boston. Free will introduce the Massachusetts 54th Regiment Drills who will perform. The Massachusetts 54th is the first black unit from the North to fight for the Union Army during the Civil War.

On Sunday, July 25th, alongside former President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton, Free will be the Mistress of Ceremonies at the "Something New" event to be held at Avalon Club (next to Fenway Park Coordinates:

Joining Free will be young Democrats including movie actress Natalie Portman Natalie Portman (Hebrew: נטלי פורטמן‎; born June 9, 1981) is a Golden Globe-winning, Academy Award-nominated Israeli-American actress. , TV and movie star Jamie Foxx Jamie Foxx (born December 13, 1967) is an American actor, singer, and stand-up comic. Foxx is possibly best-known for his performance of musician Ray Charles in Ray, and for his collaborations with director Michael Mann. , artists Snoop Dogg, OutKast and Marc Anthony will encourage a group of their peers to make a difference by voting in this year's election. DNC Chairman, Terry McAuliffe, started "Something New" as a way to reach youth in new and creative ways.

And finally, on Monday July 26th at 10:00am, Free will join Russell Simmons and a host of Hip-Hop luminaries at the Boston Hip-Hop Summit that will be held at Roxbury Community College Roxbury Community College is a two-year community college in Roxbury Crossing, Massachusetts. It offers associate degrees as well as a transfer program for students to earn credits for transfer to other colleges. . The charge is to encourage youth voter registration in the Roxbury community.
