Boston Edison announces new service.


BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 12, 1996--Boston Edison Co. today launched its "Power Systems Services" which will provide businesses with a wide range of cost saving options for designing, installing and maintaining internal electrical distribution systems.

Edison announced its new service at the New England New England, name applied to the region comprising six states of the NE United States—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The region is thought to have been so named by Capt.  Plant Engineering and Maintenance Show being held at the World Trade Center in Boston.

Offering Power Systems Services to a greatly expanded market, further demonstrates our leadership role in the rapidly changing electric utility industry. Edison's Power Systems Services combines innovative technology and more than a century of electrical industry expertise to help business customers reduce operating costs operating costs nplgastos mpl operacionales  while increasing productivity, reliability, efficiency and safety. The utility will provide clients with a menu of services such as system design and engineering, construction and installation, and operations and maintenance.

Boston Edison has been test marketing the Power Systems Services concept for the past year and has completed projects for companies such as the Bank of Boston, Instrumentation Labs Inc., of Lexington, and the Boston meat packing firm Dole and Bailey. In addition, Edison has performed services for the towns of Mansfield and South Hadley South Hadley, residential town (1990 pop. 16,685), Hampshire co., W Mass., on the Connecticut River near the Holyoke Range; settled 1684, inc. 1775. Its paper industry dates from the early 19th cent. , Mass.

Reception to Edison's Power Systems Services partnerships has been very positive.
