Boston Beer Co. sees 40% growth

Boston Beer Co. had the biggest year in its five-year history in 1990, growing 40 percent to 112,000 barrels, the brewer said.

"It's gratifying to experience such outstanding growth in all areas," said Boston Beer Co. president, Jim Koch. "Drinkers continue to recognize the character and integrity of our beers at the same time as our brewery representatives grow and develop."

The Boston Beer Co. also continued its tradition at the 1990 Great American Beer Festival by winning two medals, one each for Samuel Adams Boston Lager and Samuel Adams Double Bock.

To keep up with the brewery's production growth, Koch also announced the promotion of four representatives to the newly-created position of regional manager. Those managers, who will be responsible for market development and sales, are: Tony Corallo, New York; Nicole Harrison, the Mid-West; Joe Whitney, Southern California; and Cheryl Lincoln, Mid-Atlantic states.

In another move, Nancy Firth was promoted to senior brewery representative. She will be responsible for Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan.
