They are currently coached by Jon Sharp and play their home games at the Galpharm Stadium (which they share with Huddersfield Town FC). are now looking forward and not back. That's the message from head coach Jon Sharp Jon Sharp is the head coach of Super League club Huddersfield Giants. Formerly an assistant coach at St Helens, he was appointed in 2003 when Tony Smith left the club for Leeds Rhinos. He is also part of the Great Britain coaching set-up. As a player he played for Hull. as his club step up their preparations for Saturday's engage Super League derby clash at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Wakefield Trinity Wildcats is a professional rugby league club that plays in the Super League. They achieved promotion in 1999 and have remained in the League since. They are known to their fans as 'Wakey', 'Trinity' or 'Wildcats'. . The Giants are looking at the Sky-televised trip to Belle Vue as the chance to bounce back from Friday's 36-20 defeat at Wigan Wigan (wĭg`ən), city (1991 pop. 88,725) and metropolitan district, N England, located in the Manchester metropolitan area on the Douglas River. . The post-mortem into Huddersfield's first-half horror show, when they fell 30-0 behind after just 32 minutes, is now complete. And Sharp believes his players are ready to make amends this weekend. "We've now drawn a line under the Wigan game, and it's time to move on," said Sharp. "During the review process, we've spoken at length about what happened and ways of putting it right. "That process is now complete and we're looking forward to getting back on track over at Wakefield. "The players know they face a tough week in training, and we obviously hope to see the results on Saturday in what we know will be another tough game." Sharp will soon reveal his 20-man squad, with Stuart Donlan, Mat Gardner and Jon Grayshon all hoping to benefit if the head coach considers making changes. All three have been named in the 20 and missed out on the final 17 in the opening three games, but if they impress in training this week, they could get the nod. The Giants are hoping to receive strong support against the Wildcats, with club officials urging fans to buy their tickets in advance from the Galpharm - to help boost club funds. "Under the recently-introduced Super League ruling, away teams are entitled to 10% of all ticket sales to their supporters when playing away from home," explained Giants general manager Richard Thewlis. "This doesn't apply to pay-on-the-day fans, only to those who actually buy tickets from the club they support to visit the opposition. "For example, against Leeds the other week, we generated income for ourselves of around pounds 550 from our advance ticket sales, which is obviously a welcome new stream. "Multiply that by 14 (the number of Super League away trips) and it's clearly a substantial pot of money we previously haven't seen." Prices for Wakefield are pounds 15 adults and pounds 7 concessions. The tickets are standing only. |
