HEARTS are eyeing a move for Austrian striker David Witteveen.

The hitman is set to link up with boss Csaba Laszlo's squad at their training camp in Germany next week.

Witteveen has been plying his trade with St Andrae in the Austrian Second Division but will be handed a chance to impress Laszlo and secure a contract in the SPL (1) (Systems Programming Language) The assembly language for the HP 3000 series. See assembly language for an SPL program example.

Laszlo has welcomed Spanish winger Suso and Inverness midfielder Ian Black Ian Black can refer to:

into his squad this week and is keen to land more new faces before the big kick-off on August 15.

The Gorgie manager needs to beef up his attacking choices with Calum Elliot Calum Elliot (born 30 March 1987, in Edinburgh) is a Scottish professional footballer currently playing for Scottish Premier League club Heart of Midlothian.

Macedonian international Ilco Naumoski rejected a contract offer and looks set for a move to Spain.

Praying German midfielder Tibor Heber continues on trial at Riccarton and the 23-year-old may also travel back to Germany for the camp as Hearts get set to play four games in six days during their warm-up trip.

Laszlo is praying he'll add further to his group.

He said: "I hope there will be new faces. I hope in a very short time we can have more players which I would like to sign and after we can talk about the team and squad. We don't have much time so we must begin to work and try to form a very competitive team quickly.

"Definitely we must have a team with experience as we have the Europa League, the league and two cups.

"In the middle of the field we have the most players. It's an important part of the team but we must look at the striker position and central defence.

"We have lost some players butthis is life. August 15 is the most important against Dundee United but we must have a team that is prepared."

Defender Jose Goncalves was reacquainted with his team-mates when the squad returned for pre-season training on Thursday following a season-long loan with German side Nuremberg.

The return of the Portuguese star is effectively a new signing to Laszlo who has not worked with the player before.
