Borrell Brothers Reunite to Showcase Roots of Cuban Music at San Francisco's SoMarts Cultural Center in April.

SAN FRANCISCO--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--March 25, 2002

Visiting Cuban performing artists and the Bay Area's Orquesta la Moderna Tradicion will unite in April to lead Latin music fans on a journey through 150 years of the island's music and dance via a series of performances, workshops and parties at the SomArts Cultural Center in San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden .

Show director Roberto Borrell and Orquesta la Moderna Tradicion in association with SomArts will present four theatrical concerts, made possible by a grant from the Creative Work Fund. The events will include the legendary rumbero and singer, Gregorio Hernandez, nicknamed "El Goyo," plus two of Roberto's brothers and his nephew NEPHEW, dom. rel. The son of a person's brother or sister. Amb. 514; 1 Jacob's Ch. R. 207. . The visiting artists will perform with Orquesta la Moderna Tradicion and other top Bay Area musicians.

The visit will be the first time the Borrells have performed together in the U. S.

Tickets to both the Musica Cubana show and party are $25.
