Club sent a message of intent to the rest of the Premier League this past weekend with a spectacular 21-2 win over Sheffield Wildcats. The opening five minutes saw Boro establish their superiority over Sheffield with a solid passing game. Unable to cope with the sustained pressure, the opposition's defence began to crumble and Boro captain John Jones was quick to find the back of the net. Amazingly, Boro lost their lead just 30 seconds from the restart as an erratic shot somehow managed to find its way past an in-form Daniel Palmer. Determined to keep Sheffield from believing they could take something from the game, Boro hit back immediately as Owen Stewart teleported an unstoppable slapshot into the top corner. The remainder of the half saw Boro dictate the rhythm, drawing Sheffield out of position and taking advantage of their mistakes. Vice captain Mikey Ableson scored arguably ar·gu·a·ble adj. 1. Boro now have a four-week break to prepare for a huge home game against fellow title contenders Grimsby.
